The main content of this subject is the study of the history of the entire world,from the prehistoric times to today. The objectives of the subject are learning world history, as well as the preparation for the TOEFL exam.

What teaching methods do you use to teach this subject?
您一般會(huì)怎么上這門(mén)課呢?
My teaching methods involve lectures, which are accompanied by the PowerPoint presentations. Students will take notes and use them for chapter quizzes, which I give at the end of each topic, and the midterm and final exams. This will help them retain the knowledge of what they learned throughout the academic year.
我講課的時(shí)候會(huì)用到PPT,而且除了期中期末考試之外,每一章結(jié)束之后我也會(huì)安排一次小測(cè),學(xué)生們可以利用平時(shí)做的筆記復(fù)習(xí),這也有利于他們及時(shí)回顧學(xué)過(guò)的知識(shí)。

In addition, my job is to prepare the students for the TOEFL exam. This exam consists of four parts: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I help students improve their reading skills by learning new vocabulary, reading chapters from our textbook and answering questionson these chapters (which helps the students improve their reading comprehension). I help students improve their writing skills by writing down the class notes, writing vocabulary sentences and stories and answering essay questions. As for speaking skills, I will ask them to read out loud, which allows me to focus on their pronunciation. Finally, I enhance their listening skills by lecturing in class and interacting with the students, which gives them an opportunity to listen to my speaking and understand it better.
此外,輔導(dǎo)學(xué)生準(zhǔn)備托??荚囈彩俏业墓ぷ鲀?nèi)容。托福包含聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫(xiě)四個(gè)部分,在課堂上我會(huì)注意鍛煉學(xué)生這四個(gè)方面的能力。就閱讀而言,我會(huì)讓學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)新詞匯、帶領(lǐng)學(xué)生閱讀文章并回答課后習(xí)題(這能提高他們的閱讀理解能力)。就寫(xiě)作而言,我會(huì)從課堂筆記的撰寫(xiě)、單詞的造句及故事創(chuàng)作、回答課后習(xí)題這幾個(gè)方面去鍛煉他們遣詞造句的能力。至于口語(yǔ)呢,我主要通過(guò)讓學(xué)生大聲朗讀去檢查和糾正發(fā)音問(wèn)題。較后,我認(rèn)為英文授課以及與學(xué)生之間的互動(dòng)也能很好地提升他們的聽(tīng)力技巧。

It involves writing a story based on the vocabulary words they learned. The purpose of this homework is to help students improve their knowledge of English vocabulary and their writing skills. Besides, writing vocabulary sentences and answering the questions for the chapters are also included. There will also be high school and college level research papers on the selected topics.

What evaluation methods are applied to assess the performance of our students ?
您會(huì)采取什么方式去評(píng)估學(xué)生的表現(xiàn)呢?
I assess my students by giving them vocabulary and chapter quizzes, as well as the midterm and final exams. I also assess their reading comprehension by having them answer questions on the stories from the United States History. Finally, I assess my students’ ability to use the new vocabulary terms by writing stories with these terms.
我會(huì)通過(guò)單詞小測(cè)、章節(jié)測(cè)驗(yàn)以及期中期末考的方式去考核同學(xué)們的表現(xiàn)。此外,我也會(huì)通過(guò)回答課后習(xí)題的方式考核同學(xué)們的閱讀理解,對(duì)詞匯的運(yùn)用能力則通過(guò)用生詞寫(xiě)故事的方式去檢測(cè)。
